A New Iberia man says the 2022 Ram 3500 truck he purchased was defective.

Jerrod Cope filed his lawsuit in federal court against FCA US LLC alleging violations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Redhibition pursuant to Louisiana state code.

According to the complaint, Cope purchased the 2022 Ram 3500 from Mark Dodge Chrysler Jeep LLC in November 2022. He says the vehicle's engine had certain defects and non-conformities for which he sought repairs at Musson Patout Automotive, an authorized service and repair facility of FCA US.

Despite multiple attempts to fix these issues between July and November 2023, Cope says the vehicle remained defective and unreliable. The total contract price of the vehicle including various charges exceeded $79,602.99.

Cope seeks compensatory damages.
