The United States of America has filed a lawsuit against Jamie Harris in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, under the case ID 2:24-cv-00894-GGG-MBN on April 10, 2024. The plaintiff accuses the defendant of defaulting on a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan. Assistant United States Attorney Churita H. Hansell represents the United States in this case.

In February 2006, Harris received an SBA loan of $40,000 to rehabilitate disaster-damaged personal property. The loan agreement required Harris to make monthly payments of $170 starting from February 2007. However, Harris defaulted on his payments in February 2019.

Due to Harris's default, the United States is seeking a money judgment for the unpaid principal amount of $24,736.31, interest accrued through February 27, 2024 ($1,218.71), and administrative fees ($9,365.22), totaling $35,320.24.
