Nicole Williams has taken legal action against her former employer, a telecommunications company, alleging violations of federal wage laws. The complaint was filed on September 25, 2024, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division, targeting Call Center Connect, Inc. (CCC). Williams accuses CCC of failing to pay her due overtime wages as mandated by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

According to the complaint, Nicole Williams worked for Call Center Connect from August 2021 until August 2024 as an hourly employee. Throughout her employment, she claims that CCC paid her the same hourly rate for all hours worked each week without providing the legally required overtime premium for hours exceeding 40 per week. This alleged "straight-time-for-overtime" payment scheme is at the heart of Williams' lawsuit.

Williams asserts that CCC's actions constitute a willful violation of the FLSA, which mandates overtime pay at one and a half times an employee's regular rate for any hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek. The complaint highlights that CCC was aware of these requirements but deliberately chose not to comply. As a result, Williams seeks compensation for unpaid wages and liquidated damages equivalent to those unpaid wages.

The lawsuit also outlines how CCC operates systematically across Louisiana and engages in commerce or production of goods for commerce with annual sales exceeding $500,000. This detail underscores CCC's obligation under FLSA regulations to adhere to federal wage laws. The plaintiff further argues that this pattern of neglecting overtime pay reflects either reckless disregard or intentional misconduct by CCC.

In seeking relief from the court, Nicole Williams requests several judgments against Call Center Connect. She asks for recognition of CCC's liability under federal wage laws and demands compensation covering all unpaid wages along with liquidated damages and penalties. Additionally, she seeks reimbursement for attorney fees and costs associated with bringing this action forward.

Representing Nicole Williams is attorney Matthew S. Parmet from Parmet PC based in Houston, Texas. The case is identified as Case No. 6:24-cv-01321 and will be heard before judges assigned within the jurisdiction of the Western District of Louisiana.
