GRETNA – A construction supervisor is suing a local construction company claiming it owes nearly $220,000 for work completed under his employment contract. GRETNA – A local gas station is suing its property insurer for allegedly not covering the replacement of underground storage tanks. Brothers Veterans LLC filed suit against American Zurich Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 27. Brothers Veterans asserts it is the owner of a gas station located at 6600 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie that was covered by a property insurance policy provided by American Zurich Insurance Company.
CVS pharmacy accused of improperly labeling prescription medication, leading to overdose
GRETNA – A corporate pharmacy is being sued by a Jefferson Parish woman who claims she overdosed on medication that had the instructions on the bottle saying she should take four times the dose her doctor ordered. GRETNA – A motorist who claims she was injured when her car was struck by an ambulance is suing the driver of the vehicle and its owner. GRETNA – A local fast food restaurant is being sued by a woman who claims she is disabled after a bench she sat on collapsed beneath her. Bryeana Lejean Allen filed suit against Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc., Liberty Muual Fire Insurance Company and the manager of the store only known as “Gloria” in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 21. Allen claims on May 9, 2014 she was a customer at the Popeye’s restaurant located at 5950 Lapalco Blvd. in Marerro.
Xavier University accused of constructing building on neighbor’s land without permission
NEW ORLEANS – Xavier University of Louisiana is being sued by a woman who owns a piece of property neighboring the university’s campus claiming it developed a building on her property without her permission. Leola Williams filed suit against Xavier University of Louisiana in Orleans Parish District Court on April 10. Williams claims that in 2014 the defendant constructed a building as well as a fence, which gradually moved onto her property.
Marrero man claims property insurer underpaid hail damage
GRETNA – A Marrero homeowner is suing his property insurer for allegedly not covering hail damage to his home. Damian Ortiz filed suit against United Fire and Indemnity Company in the 24th Judicial District Court. Ortiz contends he owns a home located at 5145 Mount Revard Court in Marrero that was covered by a property insurance contract provided by United Fire and Indemnity Company.
