GRETNA – A minor league baseball team is being sued by a fan who claims he was blinded in one eye and suffered a brain injury after being struck in the face by a foul ball while attending a game. Don Wilson, and wife Barbara, filed suit against Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District and New Orleans Zephyrs Baseball Club LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 5. BATON ROUGE – A local bowling alley is being sued for allegedly failing to pay a local advertising company fees in 2014. Lamar Advertising of Louisiana filed suit against The Italian Bowl LLC in the 19th Judicial District Court on April 8. The plaintiff claims that the defendant entered into an agreement with Lamar Advertising to pay $10,400 for advertising work on Aug. 15, 2014.

NEW ORLEANS – A man who claims he was severely injured when a radial saw cut through his hand on the job is suing the owners of the property where the incident occurred and his insurer. Carlos Alvardo filed suit against Marco Velasquez Vigil, El-Amm Mark and their insurer on April 14 in the Orleans Parish District Court. The plaintiff claims that on Oct. 24, 2014 he was performing physical labor on a property owned by the defendants in New Orleans.

Cox Communications sued by woman alleging injury in trip over exposed wire

GRETNA – A local cable provider is being sued by a woman who claims she received severe and disabling injuries in a trip over an exposed cable. Carolyn Woolridge filed suit against Cox Communications Louisiana LLC and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 4. Woolridge alleges that on June 7, 2014 she left her apartment located at 2209 Argyll St. in Harvey and tripped over cable wire on the ground belonging to Cox Communications.

GRETNA – A bicyclist is suing a taxi cab driver for allegedly running him over. Richard Ory filed suit against Mahmoud Ismael and Atlas Financial Holdings Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 4. Ory claims that on May 4, 2014 he was riding his bicycle on West Esplanade Ave. in Metairie when Ismael drove his taxi cab out of a driveway, striking him in the process.
