The Delachaise sued over woman's fall at entrance

Anthony J. Milazzo

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a local wine bar for injuries she says she suffered in a fall on their premises.

Lynette Morein filed suit on Jan. 27 in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court against The Delachaise. Morein claims she was walking from inside the bar to her table outside when she fell in the entryway.

The plaintiff alleges the area where she fell was not well maintained, unsafe, obstructed and poorly lit. Morein claims she suffered serious injuries from the fall.

An unspecified amount in damages is being sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earnings, permanent disability, loss of consortium and attorney's fees.

Morein is being represented by Anthony J. Milazzo, III of New Orleans-based Edward J. Womac, Jr. and Associates.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
