By Carrie Bradon | Jun 24, 2016

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following an incident in which a roofing company allegedly produced defective shingles and failed to remedy problems that followed due to the poorly made components.

Susanne Ashley Marler filed a suit against Owens Corning Roofing & Asphalt and Allstate Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 1.

According to the claim, Marler has attempted to get her roof replaced because of allegedly defective shingles manufactured by Owens Corning. The plaintiff claims she contacted the defendant multiple times, providing them with the information requested, yet the plaintiff still received no aid or remedy for the issue.

The defendant is accused of negligence and fault in manufacturing defective shingles, installing a defective product and failing to notify the customers of this defect.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Todd A. Hebert and S. Ashley Marler of Hebert & Marler of New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
