IberiaBank alleges promissory note remains unpaid

GRETNA – A Lafayette Parish bank alleges that a Kenner resident has failed to pay a debt.

IberiaBank filed a suit against Ernest E. Clay in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 27.

According to the claim, the defendant executed a promissory note for $10,000 on May 24, 2013. The suit states that the defendant, though he initially agreed to pay the amount required, has since failed to make payments since June 5, 2015, and that $7,584.60 is still owed to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of failure to pay the promissory note as agreed upon and required.

The plaintiff is seeking $7,584.60 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Robert A Mathis of Newman, Mathis, Brady and Spedale of Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
