GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages claiming that she was caused to slip and fall on a wet and slippery pavement outside of a bank.
Megan McConnell Owens filed a suit against JP Morgan Chase Bank in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 6.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer at the Chase bank located at 1415 Metairie Road on June 9, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was exiting the bank, she was caused to slip and fall on a smooth and wet portion of concrete, causing injuries.
The defendant is accused of negligence through its failure to warn of the dangerous condition, failure to remedy the danger and overall failure to exercise reasonable care.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Jeffrey A. Raines of Murphy, Rogers, Sloss, Gambel & Tompkins of New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
