GRETNA – A New Orleans Parish man is seeking damages following an incident in which his insurance provider allegedly failed to reimburse him fully for damages.
Robert Maureau filed a suit against Essentia Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 16.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was an owner of a 1971 Rolls Royce Coniche. The suit states that while in an IHOP located at 3400 S.I-10 Service Road on March 21, 2015, the vehicle caught on fire, resulting in damages of more than $25,000. The suit states that following the incident, the plaintiff attempted to receive full compensation through insurance for the damages, but following demands has not been reimbursed for the full damages of the car.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract through its failure to fully and fairly reimburse the plaintiff for his damages.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Edward C. Vocke IV of Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
