Woman claims she was injured in a fall at a Walmart store

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she allegedly fell in a Walmart store located in Kenner.

Connie Carrigee filed a suit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Walmart Neighborhood Market in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 13.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a patron at the Walmart at 3520 Williams Blvd. in Kenner on July 3, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while she was pushing a basket down one of the aisles, Carrigee was caused to slip and fall, allegedly resulting in personal injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence, inattention and gross carelessness through its failure to maintain the store in a safe condition, allowing a dangerous situation to exist and overall failure to exercise reasonable care.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by John C. Bono and Michael P. Bono of Bono Law Firm in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
