GRETNA – A car dealership has filed suit against a Jefferson Parish man for making allegedly false statements in an online review.

Trapp Cadillac, Chevrolet Inc. filed a suit against Robert Pomar in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 27.

According to the claim, the defendant experienced car issues after driving off of the road and into a ditch and water on May 6. The suit states that the defendant brought the car to the plaintiff for an estimate of the cost for repairs. The plaintiff recommended what could be done, but the defendant allegedly left without accepting the recommendations. On May 17, the defendant made multiple statements on a Google post review, claiming that the plaintiffs were liars and thieves and advising people not to use them for business, thus acting in a false and defamatory manner.

The defendant is accused of making false and defamatory statements against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Frederic C. Fondren, Roy A. Jefferson Jr. and George O. Luce of Mayhall Fondren Blaize in Houma. The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
