South Central Community College seeks allegedly unpaid bill from former student

NEW ORLEANS – A community college is seeking damages, claiming that a student failed to make payments on an open account.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through South Central Community College filed a suit against Kisha Latoya Edwards in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 30.

According to the claim, the defendant was a student of the community college in the fall of 2012. The suit states that while attending, the defendant accumulated more than $900 in charges. The suit additionally states that since then, there have been no payments made on the current balance.

The defendant is accused of open account through failing to pay for the charges due.

The plaintiff is seeking $969.80 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge. The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
