Woman files suit after falling at Family Dollar store

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages after she allegedly slipped and fell in a Family Dollar Store.

Audrey Leblanc filed a suit against Family Dollar Stores of Louisiana Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was shopping at the Family Dollar Store located at 2650 Canal St., on Aug. 11, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was shopping, she was caused to slip and fall by liquid that had been left on the ground and was injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain a reasonably safe place and failing to warn the plaintiff of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Edward J. Womac Jr. and Matthew Sutton of the Law Offices of Edward J. Womac Jr. and Associate in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
