Woman seeks damages after accident with Jefferson Parish vehicle

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following an auto accident.

Ciara Smith filed a suit against Parish of Jefferson, Consolidated Drainage District No. 2 of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana and Kenneth Burst in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 1.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was operating her vehicle on April 19 on Cleary Avenue when she was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by Burst and owned by the defendants. She alleges she as incurred medical expenses and property damage because of the incident.


Burst is accused of negligence through careless operation of a motor vehicle.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by James S. Rees IV, Robert P. Charbonnet Jr. and Richard D. Roniger II of Charbonnet Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
