BATON ROUGE – A former employee alleges an East Baton Rouge Parish commercial pressure washing company did not properly compensate him for all hours he worked.
Douglas Moncada filed a complaint on Aug. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Green Tiger Softwash Inc. and Alvin Brown alleging that they knowingly and willfully violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that from 2012 to 2016, he customarily worked between 50 and 60 hours per week but was not paid overtime compensation for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. The plaintiff holds Green Tiger Softwash Inc. and Brown responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay proper overtime compensation at a rate of time-and-one-half.
The plaintiff seeks judgment rendered in favor of the plaintiff for accumulated unpaid wages, an equal sum as liquidated damages, reasonable attorneys' fees, interest and costs of this proceeding. He is represented by Daniel B. Davis and Randall E. Estes of Estes Davis Law LLC in Baton Rouge.
