Woman claims slipped, fell because of frozen pizza in Dollar Tree store

GRETNA – A Mississippi woman claims that she slipped on a pizza in a Dollar Tree.

Elizabeth David filed a suit against Dollar Tree Stores Inc., ABC corporations 1-3 and John Does 1-5 in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 23.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer at the defendant's location at 800 S. Clearview Parkway in Harahan on Aug. 30, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when she stepped on a thawed frozen pizza that had been left on the floor, which caused her to fall and sustain injuries.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to remove the item from the ground and properly clean the area where it was, failing to warn customers of the present danger and negligence to take the proper measure of care.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Stephen H. Vogt of Thibaut, Thibaut and Vogt in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
