Festival worker alleges chair collapsed, caused injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was injured when a chair collapsed on her.

Corliss Marie Adams filed a suit against Axis Insurance Co. and Event Rental LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 29.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was sitting in a folding chair on April 15, 2015, working at a booth during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall when the chair provided by Event Rental LLC collapsed.

The defendants are accused of negligence in the incident.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Robin Matlock Hearin Jr. of Hearin Law Offices in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
