NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that his driver's license was wrongly suspended.
Roderice Johnson filed a suit against the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 21.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was issued a driving ticket on July 14, 2011, for speeding and paid the ticket in full in February. The suit states that the plaintiff's license remains suspended, despite having paid the fine for his ticket. Additionally, the plaintiff's jobs have been threatened as his is unable to travel to work.
The plaintiff is seeking a temporary injunction and a permanent injunction.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by James F. Welch of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
