Florida man alleges asbestos exposure in work environment caused damages

NEW ORLEANS – A Florida man claims that he was exposed to asbestos at work and was injured.

Ray Peter Joseph Gisclair filed a suit against Reilly-Benton Co. Inc., et al. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 3.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was exposed to asbestos or products containing it during his scope of employment  and has developed mesothelioma as a result.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Frank J. Swarr, Mickey P. Landry, Phillip Hoffman, Matthew Clark and Amanda Ballay of Landry & Swarr in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-10930.
