Walmart shopper alleges she was injured after slipping on substance

GRETNA – A woman claims that she slipped and fell in a Walmart.

Jernesse Martin filed a suit against Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 22.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the Walmart located in Jefferson Parish on Sept. 30 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall when in the store.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Jack P. Ruli Jr., Thomas A. Gennusa II and Reid Uzee in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
