Man alleges surgeon caused injuries during procedure

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that a medical procedure injured him.

In Re: Medical Review Panel, Alie Hubbard and Elvera Hubbard filed a suit against Ochsner Baptist Medical Center LLC, and all employees of Ochsner Baptist Medical Center LLC, Russell G. Hendrick Jr. M.D., Jodi A. Forte R.N., Lashonda M. Brown, CST and ABC insurance companies in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 29.

According to the claim, Alie Hubbard was seen by the defendants for the treatment of scapholunate advanced collapse. The suit states that a procedure was completed on Dec. 4, 2015, but that Hendrick caused damage to a tendon during the surgery. Alie Hubbard alleges he began to experience worsening of his condition on Feb. 12, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff has suffered other losses and conditions as a result of his treatment.

The defendants are accused of negligence and medical malpractice, through failing to take the proper care, grant the proper standard of health care and overall negligence in the treatment of the plaintiff.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Allan Berger and Andrew J. Geiger of Allan Berger & Associates in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.
