Orleans Parish School Board accuses New Orleans construction firm of shoddy work

NEW ORLEANS – The Orleans Parish School Board is suing a construction firm, alleging failure to fix defective construction.

Orleans Parish School Board filed a suit Dec. 19 against Woodrow Wilson Construction LLC and Hanover Insurance Company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Woodrow Wilson Construction completed construction work on the new Edward Hynes Elementary School for the plaintiff but never remedied the construction defects. The suit says the defects included roof leaks, leaks around the doors, leaking sinks, problems with doors, improperly installed floor outlets, unstable light posts and defective masonry.

  

The Orleans Parish School Board seeks judgment in an amount to be determined at trial, attorney fees and all equitable relief. It is represented by attorneys Daniel Lund III, Imtiaz Siddiqui, Stuart G. Richeson, Gillian B. Gibbs and Carys A. Arvidson of Coats Rose PC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-12346.
