NEW ORLEANS – A family is suing a New Orleans security business, alleging their safety deposit box was robbed.
Suzanne M. Collmer, Sheryl C. Collmer, and Deborah A. Collmer filed a lawsuit Dec. 21 against The Security Center Ltd, and Blanchard and Company Inc in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.
According to the claim, the Collmers secured a safe deposit box to which Blanchard held a key. The suit states that the deposit box was robbed, resulting in the loss of valuables belonging to the plaintiffs.
The lawsuit states the the defendant was negligent through failing to maintain the boxes in a safe state and failing to take the necessary precautions to avoid such an incident from occurring.
The Collmers seek damages to be decided by the court. They are represented by attorney Samantha P. Griffin of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
