TIGO allegedly sent woman promotional text messages without consent

NEW ORLEANS — A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was harassed by a telecommunications company.

Eugenia Barrios filed a lawsuit on May 7 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Millicom Americas LLC d/b/a TIGO, alleging harassment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages because the defendant allegedly sent her text messages that encouraged her to purchase its goods. The defendant allegedly continued to send text messages to the plaintiff without consent.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Roberto Luis Costales of Beaumont Costales LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
