A former employee has filed a lawsuit accusing a home care company of discrimination and retaliation.
Christa Bush filed her complaint in federal court against Louisiana HomeCare of Miss-Lou accusing the company of race-based discrimination, disability discrimination and retaliation.
According to the complaint, Bush was subjected to racist remarks from a coworker named Teri. Bush also says her complaints about these comments were ignored by the company. She also claims Teri used her position as Patient Care Manager to undermine and antagonize Bush on a daily basis.
The complaint further alleges Robin Aplin, Assistant Executive Director at the time, agreed with Teri's racist viewpoints. When Megan Floyd filled the position of Executive Director in May 2022, Bush says Floyd witnessed the hostility toward Bush and even filed a report with Human Resources regarding "racial discrimination against Christa/."
However, despite repeated pleas made by Bush to numerous leaders and Human Resources representatives, no action was taken to resolve the hostility.
