A tile company has sued an employee it claims has misappropriating trade secrets and confidential information for his own benefit and that of his company.

American Tile and Marble Co., Inc. and G. Sid Menard Jr. filed their complaint in federal court against Jeffrey Paul Blanchard and Blanchard Construction Services LLC. The plaintiffs also accuse Blanchard of breaching fiduciary duties and duty of loyalty to American Tile, as well as violating a confidentiality agreement.

American Tile, which is based in Caddo Parish, specialized in construction services and materials including brick tiling, carpeting, ceramic tile faced panels among others. Menard is an individual citizen of Louisiana while defendant Blanchard is a citizen of Alabama with his company being registered under Alabama laws.

The complaint alleges violations of the Defend Trade Secrets Act and seeks injunctive relief.
