Rebecca A. Davis and her company, Rebecca A Davis FNP-C, LLC, have filed a lawsuit against multiple corporations alleging fraudulent business practices and breaches of contract that have left her financially crippled. The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana on April 23, 2025, naming BTL Industries, Inc., Cynosure, Inc., First Federal Bank and Trust, Stearns Bank, NA, Greenwoods Equipment Finance, LLC, Me and My Pal, Inc., MMP Capital, LLC, and Banleaco, Inc. as defendants.
The case centers around allegations that BTL Industries misled Davis into purchasing over $1 million worth of aesthetic medical equipment under false pretenses. According to the complaint, BTL used its monopoly on certain body-contouring devices to entice Davis into buying their products by promising substantial financial returns that never materialized. "BTL advised Ms. Davis that the Emsella Aesthetic System and Emsculpt Neo equipment would dramatically increase her cash revenue," the complaint states. However, Davis claims these promises were part of a fraudulent scheme involving misleading financing arrangements orchestrated by BTL and other defendants.
Davis asserts that she was manipulated into signing multiple loans with various lenders for equipment purchases she could not afford. These loans were structured in a way that allegedly maximized fees for lenders while obscuring true costs from Davis. The complaint details how BTL employees allegedly arranged for several smaller loans instead of one large loan to facilitate the sale of their equipment to Davis's practice. "This voluntary act placed BTL in a fiduciary relationship with Plaintiffs," argues the complaint.
In addition to seeking rescission of all contracts related to these transactions due to fraud and misrepresentation claims against the defendants—including intentional misrepresentation and negligent infliction of emotional distress—Davis is also pursuing damages under Louisiana's Unfair Trade Practices Law. She alleges that unfair methods of competition were employed by BTL and its co-defendants through deceptive acts in commerce which violated state law provisions prohibiting such conduct.
Davis seeks judgment from the court rescinding all contracts related to these transactions due to fraud or intentional misrepresentation claims against defendants including breach-of-contract claims resulting from failure-of-consideration arguments advanced within this legal action brought forth by plaintiffs' attorneys Lawrence R Anderson Jr., Deborah Berthelot among others involved throughout proceedings initiated herein via Case ID: 3:25-cv-00346-SDD-SDJ presided over by judges associated therewith accordingly pursuant thereto.
