Rebecca A. Davis and her company, Rebecca A Davis FNP-C, LLC, have filed a significant lawsuit against multiple defendants including BTL Industries, Inc., Cynosure, Inc., and several financial institutions. The complaint was lodged in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana on April 23, 2025. This legal action centers around allegations of fraudulent business practices and deceptive trade by these entities.
According to the court documents, Rebecca A. Davis claims that she was misled into purchasing over $1 million worth of aesthetic medical equipment under false pretenses. The lawsuit details how BTL Industries allegedly used its monopoly over certain medical devices to manipulate financing arrangements that resulted in Ms. Davis incurring multiple loans she could not afford. "BTL arranged all the financing for Davis LLC... providing a 'free' machine for collateral," states the complaint, which further accuses BTL of acting as a fiduciary without fulfilling its duties to act in her best interest.
The filing also highlights instances where Ms. Davis was allegedly promised substantial income through training sessions and advertising support that never materialized. For instance, she was assured that her office would become a training center for new equipment with lucrative financial incentives attached—promises that were never fulfilled according to the suit. Moreover, it is claimed that BTL’s representatives falsely informed Ms. Davis about tax rebates which would aid in loan repayments.
Ms. Davis's complaint outlines various accusations against the defendants including breach of fiduciary duty, fraud in inducement, intentional misrepresentation, and violations of unfair trade practices laws among others. It alleges that BTL engaged in price-fixing and monopolistic behavior by controlling product prices and excluding competition within the market.
The plaintiffs are seeking rescission of all contracts related to these equipment purchases and loans due to what they claim were fraudulent inducements and breaches of contract by the defendants. They demand damages exceeding $1 million plus interest and costs incurred from late fees and damage to their credit reputation.
