GRETNA – A franchise restaurant is being sued by a man who claims a defective chair resulted in its leg puncturing her foot. Ronin-Lynn Disler filed suit against Brinker Louisiana Inc., Chili’s Grill and Bar and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 6. Disler contends she was a customer at Chili’s Grill and Bar located at 1741 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey when a chair leg, which did not have safety cap, punctured her foot.
GRETNA – A local cable provider is being sued by a woman who claims she received severe and disabling injuries in a trip over an exposed cable. Carolyn Woolridge filed suit against Cox Communications Louisiana LLC and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 4. Woolridge alleges that on June 7, 2014 she left her apartment located at 2209 Argyll St. in Harvey and tripped over cable wire on the ground belonging to Cox Communications.
GRETNA – A Gretna police officer accused of injuring a motorist after rear-ending him is being sued along with his employer over the accident. Lloyd Johnson filed suit against Philip Saladina, Gretna Police Department, City of Gretna and OneBeacon America Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 23. Kelly Clay filed suit against Joshua Baumann, Jefferson Parish Hospital District No. 1 and West Jefferson Medical Center in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 22. GRETNA – A local fast food restaurant is being sued by a woman who claims she is disabled after a bench she sat on collapsed beneath her. Bryeana Lejean Allen filed suit against Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc., Liberty Muual Fire Insurance Company and the manager of the store only known as “Gloria” in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 21. Allen claims on May 9, 2014 she was a customer at the Popeye’s restaurant located at 5950 Lapalco Blvd. in Marerro.
