Parents claim improperly placed tube caused injuries to child

Medical malpractice 06

GRETNA – A Mississippi couple alleges their child was injured because of a doctor's negligence.

Marshall Grey Slay Jr. and Samantha Slay, individually and as natural tutors of their minor child, filed a suit against Ochsner Clinic Foundation and Vincent Adolph M.D. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 17.

According to the claim, the plaintiff's minor child was a patient of the defendants at 16 months old in 2013. The suit states that the Adolph replaced a G-tube at his office that had fallen out but failed to place it properly, resulting in serious complications for the child.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to employ the proper surgical technique and failing to perform tests to assure the proper location of the tube.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiffs are represented by Briana E. Whetstone and David A. Bowling of The Bowling Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
