GRETNA – A flooring company is being sued by a customer who claims it sold her mismatched tiles that were installed in her home and refused to pay for the job to be redone.
NEW ORLEANS – A man who underwent a bypass surgery is suing his hospital and claiming that a negligently placed heating pad resulted in very severe and deep wounds to his legs and buttocks, ultimately resulting in an amputation. Stephen Rogers filed suit against Touro Infirmary in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 28, 2015. The plaintiff claims that in mid-September of 2010 he was a patient at Touro Infirmary and underwent several surgeries between the dates of September 13-15.
GRETNA – A contractor involved in restoring homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina is bering sued by a fellow construction company who alleges it was not paid for labor and materials provided in the reconstruction of damaged homes.

GRETNA – A contractor is being sued by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office who claims criminal prosecutions and convictions may be in jeopardy after a wall in their forensics lab allegedly failed due to damage from Hurricane Isaac in 2012. Law Enforcement District of Jefferson Parish filed suit against MAPP Construction LLC, Travelers Casualtly & Surety Company and Sizler, Thompson, Brown Architects Project Design Group LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 13.
GRETNA – A local business is suing their property insurer for allegedly not properly adjusting and paying a property insurance claim after their building and its contents were damaged in a hailstorm.

GRETNA – A local Wal-Mart is being sued by a woman who claims she was run over by a line of carts being pushed by a machine. Myrna Hosli filed suit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 7. Hosli contends she was inside the Wal-Mart located at 8912 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie when a line of shopping baskets being pushed by a machine ran into her from behind.
GRETNA – A steel fabricator is suing a local contractor for allegedly not fully paying for a 2012 subcontract on an apartment complex. Manufab Inc. filed suit against TKTMJ Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 7. Manufab Inc. claims that on Oct. 18, 2012 it was subcontracted by TKTMJ Inc. to fabricate and erect steel structures and other components on the Metairie Manor project located at 4937 York St. in Metairie.
GRETNA – A franchise restaurant is being sued by a man who claims a defective chair resulted in its leg puncturing her foot. Ronin-Lynn Disler filed suit against Brinker Louisiana Inc., Chili’s Grill and Bar and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 6. Disler contends she was a customer at Chili’s Grill and Bar located at 1741 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey when a chair leg, which did not have safety cap, punctured her foot.
